Tuesday, February 11: 10 Tips to Not Lose At Trial - Presentation by Tom Feher

Thursday, February 20: ELDR Fundraiser & Future Planning Event 

5:30-8:30 p.m.  

Planning for the inevitable can be difficult - at LawWorks, we’re making it FUN!

Come to our fundraiser for the Elder Law & Disability Rights Center (ELDR). You can contribute to a fantastic cause AND complete your individual Advance Health Care Directive, and even have it witnessed onsite.  

You can also meet with a psychic! How’s that for planning your future? 

We’ll have live music and a live painter, and serve you drinks and snacks. 

Estate planning lawyers will be on hand to answer questions and help make this event informative as well as entertaining.

Donation amount:    

  • $50.00 per person

  • $25.00 for Government employees, non-profit employees and judicial officers

  • $10.00 for law students

Tuesday, February 25: Discussion Group - Women At Work Podcast - Episode 1:  "Make Yourself Heard"

Join ChIPs and LawWorks to discuss the first episode of the Harvard Business Review podcast Women at Work: “Make Yourself Heard.”

ChIPs is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance and connect women in technology, law and policy. LawWorks is proud to partner with these Chiefs in Intellectual Property (ChIPs) in their efforts to accelerate innovation by fostering diversity of thought, and encouraging participation and engagement in these important business fields.

To participate, listen to the 45-minute podcast on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Overcast, PocketCasts and Radio Public. It tackles three elements of communication: 

  1. How and why women’s speech patterns are different than men’s

  2. How women can more effectively assert their voice in meetings

6:00 PM

The Orange County Hispanic Bar Association’s Mentoring Committee and the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Committee present a panel discussion to learn more about planning for your future in law.

  • Finding Your Practice Area

  • Interviewing

  • Networking

Saturday, February 29: Backpack Supply Drive for the Homeless and CLE Presentation on Legal Issues Surrounding Homelessness

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The OCAABA (Orange County Asian American Bar Association), Elder Law & Disability Rights Center (ELDR), People’s Homeless Task Force Orange County and LawWorks are partnering to create and distribute care packages to individuals experiencing homelessness in the form of backpacks filled with critically needed items.

We’re inviting volunteers to attend our February 29 event to assemble the care packages, and attend a CLE presentation on the legal issues faced by those experiencing homelessness.
