Meet the Team

Denise Carter

Denise Carter – Chief Community Officer

Denise oversees LawWorks’ community engagement and satisfaction, strategic partnerships, and brand and culture management. She initiates and develops relationships strengthening the LawWorks community and ensures the smooth running of ongoing operations.

A former practicing attorney, Denise previously spearheaded operations and client relations at the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution services worldwide. In that role, she provided leadership and vision in the development of recruiting strategies, diversity initiatives, and brand awareness while managing business and people operations for over $16M in revenue.

Throughout her career, Denise has maximized business efficiencies and created sustainable growth through the promotion of people-first strategies, always remembering that without mistakes there can be no advancement.

Denise is a natural connector who believes success comes through the relationships we build in our personal and professional lives. With this in mind, she engages compassionately with the world by contributing to multiple boards and community organizations and by actively serving as a mentor and coach. Having personally benefited from the interest and goodwill of others, she pays it forward with kindness, time, and energy.

Outside of the people and pets she adores, Denise’s greatest happiness comes from travel. Every chance she gets, she indulges her love of adventure by visiting someplace she’s never been. To date, she’s explored over 30 countries. One reason for Denise’s wanderlust, besides the sheer joy of discovering a new place and culture, is her passion for unusual food. Her motto is, if someone’s eating it, it’s worth trying it. As a result, Denise counts eating termites in Belize and stinky tofu in Taiwan among her culinary experiences.

Poonam Patel

Poonam Patel - President and Founder

Prior to LawWorks, Poonam was taking time off from her finance career to raise her daughters. This allowed her the time to daydream and come up with idea behind LawWorks.

Previously, she spent over ten years in corporate finance, working with companies to meet their financing needs. She also spent four years with a start-up bank and worked alongside the COO and CEO on strategic initiatives to grow the organization. Her experience in finance and strategic growth gave her the backbone needed to start something new.

Because Poonam's husband is a successful attorney with his own busy practice, her observations of the legal world, combined with her own business experience, led her to the belief that lawyers needed a better way to practice law. So, she set out to create a community and workspace where experienced and up-and-coming attorneys could grow their practice, collaborate, and create valuable relationships.

When she isn't working, she enjoys time with family and with two little girls, and there isn't time for much else! Poonam has a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Business Management from University of Tennessee.

When not at LawWorks, Sienna loves spending time outside, hiking, lounging on the beach, traveling to new states/countries, trying new restaurants, working out, discovering new books to read, and spending time with friends and family.

Celeste Rothstein

Celeste Rothstein - Content Manager

Celeste writes and curates content for the LawWorks website, blog, and other informational resources for LawWorks members.

Prior to joining LawWorks, Celeste built a content management role for a personal injury law firm in Irvine, California. In that role, she wrote a legal blog and contributed content to the firm’s website, social media, and other publications, to establish corporate credibility and increased market presence.

During her career, Celeste has also managed internal communications functions for two business consulting firms, improving productivity and engagement by connecting people to ideas, to goals, and to each other. Passionate about celebrating people, Celeste is proud of creating and managing employee awards and recognition programs that have inspired and motivated improved performance in the firms she has served.

Celeste finds her purpose through human connection and authentic communication, and this purpose drives her love of writing, and dedication to creating productive, respectful, and fulfilling workspaces.

Celeste resides in suburbia with her husband of many years and newly adult son, whom they hope will be moving out soon. They also have a daughter who thankfully does live on her own. Celeste is in the process of transitioning from the role of “mom” into the unfamiliar territory of focusing on her own needs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and writing, because apparently, she doesn’t do enough of that at work.
